Why you lose your data

Natural Disasters

What seriously? Are you joking? Surely not?

Yes, surely. And sometimes these natural disasters aren't what nature intended, but human made. How does it cause you to lose data? Let’s find out shall we?

Fire And Water

Opposite in nature, yet equally deadly. Fire will melt your hardware, water will drown it. Fire will cause mechanical malfunction, so will water. Be it a small fire, dropping it into water or huge fires and floods, you will lose data (and possibly other stuff too).

Electricity

During thunderstorms, there is every bit of a chance that you may encounter power surge. Since static electricity, which occurs at very low voltages, can damage electrical instruments, power surge is a sure way to render your electrical equipment useless

Earthquake, Tornadoes, Mudslides And Other Large Scale Disasters

Although in these situations there other thing s you should worry about (basically your own life), physical damage is the main cause of data loss. Also another possible data loss is losing the media itself.
