Why You Lose You Data

Digital Crime

Digital crime. The bane of the internet world. It causes distrust, anguish, bankruptcy, broken families (well, it could) and more. What's worse, knowing that it is probably your fault, or the institution that you trust your money to?

Theft / Misplaced

If you have ever had anything stolen from you, you will know the feeling, especially if the object is precious to you.

What is meant by theft and misplaced here is physically losing your media, like your mp3 player or laptop, which contains many of your precious files and information.

It's impossible to access files that you have lost physical access to, short of making a police report and hope for the best.

Hacking And Sabotage

Hackers gain access to "secured" data through loopholes. In theory, it's possible to control another person's computer if a hacker takes advantage of the available loophole in an unsecured network.

Hacking is tied very closely with sabotage, or espionage if you will. Although there are some hackers who do things for fun, others are there to either wreak havoc or steal for their own profit.

If they were to gain access and delete data, or load your computer or servers with programs which overload them, causing the systems to be slow down or become unsable.
